Hello everyone,
I am delighted to share some wonderful news with you all! I recently had the honour of being named runner-up for the 'Most Dedicated to Student Learning' award by the Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) Student Union. This recognition means a great deal to me, as it reflects the appreciation and acknowledgment from the students themselves, whose growth and learning are at the heart of my academic endeavours.
Teaching is a passion of mine, and being a sessional lecturer in the School of Creative Arts and Industries at CCCU since early 2020 has allowed me to engage with a diverse group of students across various departments, including Media and Communications, Games Studies, Graphic Design, and the Creative Arts MA programmes. My goal has always been to inspire and support my students, helping them to unlock their full potential and develop a deeper understanding of the subjects we explore together.
Receiving this award is a humbling reminder of why I chose this path. The energy and enthusiasm my students bring to the classroom drive me to continually refine my teaching methods and strive for excellence. It's incredibly rewarding to see them grow, not just academically but also personally, as they navigate their educational journeys.
This recognition also underscores the collaborative and supportive environment fostered by the CCCU Student Union. Their efforts to celebrate and highlight the dedication of educators play a vital role in building a strong and vibrant academic community. I am deeply grateful to the Student Union for this recognition and to my students for their kind nominations and feedback.
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all my students, colleagues, and the CCCU community for their unwavering support. This achievement is a shared one, reflecting the collective commitment to learning and teaching excellence that defines our university.
Moving forward, I am more motivated than ever to continue enhancing the learning experience for my students, exploring innovative approaches, and creating an inclusive and dynamic educational environment. I am excited about the future and look forward to many more years of teaching and learning together.
Thank you all once again for this incredible honour. Your support and encouragement mean the world to me.
Warm regards,
Dr. Dave Boyd
